Paper Lanterns
Actually Lantern means such type of lighting instrument which is used to illuminate vast areas. Lanterns may be used as a light source and have also application in signaling. While dim types of Paper Lanterns are used for decoration purposes. Paper Lanterns are extensively used to decorate as well as enhance beauty of your home or any other place.
Paper lanterns come in many forms and sizes as well as many methods of construction. The simplest form is a paper bag with a candle positioned inside, although more complex lanterns consist of a collapsible bamboo or metal frame of hoops and covered with tough paper are also available.
Paper Lanterns are particularly related with parties well-known in China and Japan and in urban areas of China where they are often hung outside of businesses to attract attention. Ping candles or tea lights in a succession of small white paper bags is a common convention in Hispanic communities during Christmas. In China, paper lanterns can be classified into 5 different categories as the Baby's Bottom is the miniature class, often used in modern times with Christmas lights. The second class is the Rolling Paper, the tall, cylindrical lanterns often related with restaurants and bars. The third class is the Tomato Light also known as Big Red is the classic round mid-size lantern. The fourth class is the Crystal Magic having the variously-shaped geometric lamps constructed of many square and triangular panes. While The last is known as Buddha's Gastronomy the large and extra large lanterns used to decorate temples and for show at exhibitions. Red paper lanterns were once associated with brothels, and this is reflected in the term red light district. In Japan, red lanterns are often used as advertisements hung just outside restaurant and clubs.
It is very easy to make a beautiful Paper Lantern because if you have construction papper, scissors, tape, stapler, ruler, pencil, adhesive material and glitter in order to decorate your Paper Lantern you can make your own Paper Lantern by following these steps as apply your ruler to measure and cut 1" off the short end of your paper and Set aside to use as the handle. Than fold your paper in half lengthwise than draw a line 1" from the end of the long edge of the paper opposite the folded edge. This will be the line where you stop cutting than Cut on the marked lines up to the "stop cutting" line than unfold the paper. Than refold the paper in opposite direction to hide any unnecessary mark. Match the long edges together on the lantern and use tape to hold it in place and than staple the handle to top of the lantern and if you want to decorate your lantern than you can use glitter, glue and other decorative material.
While battery operated Paper Lanterns have also their wide use in wedding decorations and other wedding related ceremonies especially they are used in wedding ceremonies in China and Japan.
